Following Jesus on your own (alone) is not what Jesus taught:
"Where two or three are gathered in my name there am I in there midst."
Why do the Psalms say: I will go to the house of the Lord... ? Our Church services are valuable guides. Churches ask for money (most do not require every member to pay if they can't) because they need it to feed the poor and victims of natural disasters (Catholic Relief Services for example) and to pay the pastor's salary which is often low anyway.

You could argue: Who needs to go to school? You can find everything you need to know on the internet. The same thing applies for churches. If you are going to badmouth churches then be prepared to badmouth schools for the same reason.

i disagree! yes, religion gives people something to believe and yes, i do agree that everyone needs something to believe in! But, I for one, does not believe in relgion only because it is apart of "leaders" that just preach about THEY simly believe in! if thats the case, then why don't we ALL make up our own relgion! Course, i repect the fact that others' find church to go to and find faith but WHY NOT find faith in your living room, your back yard, anywhere! Believing something or someone doesnt mean you have to show it to other people just to let them know yourself, you believe in the samethings they do! maybe its just the bad experiences i've had with churches, but they're all hypocrites and in my eyes, they want money, money, money! not all churches are like this, im sure..but i for one think that we should all be able to praise Jesus on our own without having to follow someone else's beliefs! how bout this...we all just find what we believe in, on our own term...you decide church, i decide confindement within my heart and the relationship i have with Jesus on my own! and you do NOT need to go to church JUST TO SAVE YOURSELF or get rid of sin! Jesus died, simply beacause he wanted us to be forgiven for our sins...

I don't know where you got your definition of religion. It is definitely not from the dictionary as the picture in your post implies. A religion is simply an organization of believers. You make it seem as if it is something bad. Christianity is a religion. If we didn't have a religion then no one would know what to believe. No one would have any one to listen to to learn about their faith. I am Catholic and the Mass is the highlight of my week because I get to be with a whole lot of other people who love Jesus just as much as I do. I also am inspired to live my life in Jesus. I also know that my sins are forgiven. What is wrong with that? Most religious leaders are good people. It doesn't matter if they are priests or rabbis or muslim leaders. You say that Jesus was hard on religious people because He was NOT one of them. Would you say that a teacher is hard on his students because he's not one of them too? He was hard on his apostle Peter too. He is hard on all of us who are trying to our best to follow Him.
