I was an attendee of Urbana 09 and the International House of Prayer was praying for us by name. A series of circumstances led me to your blog … and I wanted to offer my deep condolences to the entire family. It was so beautiful to see the photos of the Disneyland trip and to know that those kids knew their daddy loved them. How inspiring his life was. God’s blessings on you at this time.

Tears tears Tears….running down my face for your awesome family. Its been a year since I “cyber met” your family. I emailed Renee on Thanksgiving Day because I had found out about a little girl in the Islands that needed a home. She was so sweet she actually emailed me back while cooking thankgiving dinner. I have learned so much following your journey and out look on life and faith this last year. I truly think you two made the cuttest couple and throw in all those beautiful children and it was like reading about a piece of heaven. I just re read this entire blog and the pictures of Derek with the boys are priceless.

Renee, I recently learned of Derek’s passing and my heart is broken for you and your family. You and I have passed comments on each other’s blogs and I just loved reading about your family and your ministry. I pray that God surrounds you with His peace and love like never before.
