I have friends at IHOP and so was aware of the death of your precious husband...I am so sorry. The reason I'm writing is that we seem to be very close to losing "our" baby girl, who we've been fostering since she was 2 days old. She is now almost 17 months. Our prayer has been to be able to adopt her, but it looks like she will be leaving us soon, going into a situation that makes me almost sick to my stomach... Anyway, I just had to say that as I sit here with the Lord in the midst of my own grief, your honesty in your blog gives me courage to be honest with our own friends and family who read my blog. It's so hard to me to be so broken and so weak and to let everyone I know see me this way. But it's reality. I'm thankful for your heart. Thank you for being so real. Grace to you guys as you continue to walk through all that you are. Thank you for being faithful to Jesus. Renee,

I have never met you/your family nor had I ever heard Derek speak but in this dream it was a conference (kids were sitting in front of him everywhere) and he was speaking. He asked if anyone wanted the coat he was wearing as a mantle and I jumped up and put it on. He was so excited about what he was sharing, I remember he just kept smiling and laughing, his face was full of the Father's Presence.. I felt compelled to write you this; I am aware this dream is about my heart and the desire to adopt and have a ministry with children but I believe it is indeed two-fold. I had to stop and read and share our story. As it is very similar. My husband Matthew has Cerebral Palsy. about 4 1/2 years ago he went into a w/c full time. State covered, God is good, no prob. Then he needed a power chair. We about fell over at the $25,000 cost as well. Our insurance covered NONE of it, and we had already remortgaged our house to buy a w/c conversion van so my hub could have independence. ANYWAY, long story short, we were blessed by an amazing organization that could only have come through the Hand of God! Not only did my hub get a power chair, it has all the best things he needs, and is worth a whopping $35,000!!!! And we didn't pay a cent! GOD IS GOOD! So hold out my sister in Christ, as I know our God is bigger then any amount of ZEROS that can be thrown at us!! I wanted to share the video I made of this miraculous gift from God!!! Funny you mentioned Nascar. :) And can I just say, now with his power chair, it was the first time in 4 years I'd been able to walk beside my husband, and hold his hand...
